Contribute Content
We are looking for contributors who can provide quality images of local places of historical interest in Kingston upon Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire and add to these their own words, descriptions and research which can then be published on the Hull Online Local History Portal.
We provide contributors with special administrative rights to this portal which allows them to add their own content whenever they wish. All work is attributed to its author so you get the credit and because we recognise it’s your content and your hard work we let you decide how long you want it too appear. Occasionally we may need to edit your contributions and this is generally only done to correct obvious gramatical and spelling errors or to maintain the site’s layout.
The Hull Online Local History Portal uses state of the art web publishing software which is constantly under development and is regularly updated. It’s easy to use but to help our contributors make the most of it we also provide 24/7 technical support and will if necessary provide on-site training.
If you are interested in contributing all we ask is that you provide us with a sample article (with or without an image) which we can review. We can usually provide you with access to the site within 24 hours of receiving your sample article and after that you are free to add your own content.
Please submit your sample article using the form below or if you wish to include an image email it to contribute(at)history.hull-online.co.uk. Rest assured that we will not publish your work without your consent.
The Hull Online Local History Portal and the Hull Online Local Image Gallery are funded entirely by adverting and are run as not-for-profit projects. Any revenue generated by advertising on these sites is used to fund the web hosting charges and future development costs.
